Cocapil is a cooperative based in Ibarici, Alta Mogiana and it was founded in 2001 by Laerce Faleiros together with other producers from the area to better represent producers. In total there are now 1250 producers who are part of the cooperative. They have been working on vertically inter grating themselves in the supply chain and they started to export by themselves in 2016. They are also working hard to improve the facilities of the cooperative by increasing their warehouse space and milling capacity so they are able to store 300,000 bags and offer a greater range of services to the cooperative members.

The Cooperative also have programs and training for the producers looking at topics like the environment and sustainability. They are also looking to the future and engaging with local schools and to arrange tours and education for the students. Cocapil have created a range of coffees that they market at the Cooperative and this is their regional blend named Canario which is a blend based on the cup profile.
