Fincamigos is a farm located in the stunningly beautiful area of Jardin in the department of Antioquia in the north west of Colombia.
The farm is located at 1741 - 1950 masl and is 16ha in size with 12ha planted with coffee and is an experimental varietal farm for Cafexport. Some of the varietals planted on the farm are Laurina, Rume Sudan, Tabi and Geisha. The farm has 4 hectares for forest conservation to protect the natural environment. They have also planted 650 native trees and plants.
Tabi was devoloped by Cenicafe in the year 2002 to combat leaf rust. It is a cross of Typica, Bourbon and Hybrid de Timor. The name comes from the word “tabi,” meaning “good” in Guambiano, the dialect of a native Colombia tribe. It was planted on Fincamigos in 2018.
This lot is fully washed, where after selective picking and washing the coffee is pulped and then dry fermented for 48 hours before then being washed and cleaned again, and dried on raised beds until moisture is at 11%.
